Getting started

Do I need an account?

No. RootBOSS works without an account, email, or password. Open the app and start the intake.

How long does the intake take?

The sign-up part takes about 10 minutes: your health concerns, medications, supplements, allergies, how you eat, and your cycle. Optional sections like sleep, stress, and family history are under More, and you can fill them in any time.

How does the weekly check-in work?

You rate 71 symptoms across 15 body areas from 0 (never) to 4 (often and severe), based on the past 7 days. Lower scores mean fewer symptoms. Your answers save as you go, so you can stop and finish later.

Why 7 days instead of 14?

RootBOSS is built around a weekly habit, so each check-in covers the week since the last one. The standard paper questionnaire uses 14 days, so your scores may run a little lower than a 14-day form. Your provider report notes this.

Changes and patterns

What should I log as a change?

Anything you start, stop, or adjust that might affect how you feel: medications, supplements, doses, foods or diets, hormones, and lifestyle changes like a new exercise routine or bedtime. The date matters most; your best guess is fine.

When will I see patterns?

RootBOSS needs at least one check-in from before a change and two from the weeks after it. With weekly check-ins, that usually means two to three weeks after you log a change.

What is the difference between a clear and a possible pattern?

A clear pattern means every check-in after the change was better (or worse) than every check-in before it. A possible pattern is a real shift that is less consistent, has less data, or overlaps with another change you made during the same weeks. When changes overlap, RootBOSS names the other change so one thing does not get all the credit.

Does a pattern mean that change caused it?

No. Patterns show timing, not cause. They are a starting point for a conversation with your provider.

Privacy and your data

Where is my data stored?

Only on your phone, in an encrypted database. We do not have a copy and cannot see it. See our privacy policy.

What happens if I get a new phone?

Your history stays on the old phone. Transferring it to a new phone is not available yet. Create a PDF report from Insights before switching so you have a record.

How do I share with my provider?

Go to Insights, then Create a report for my provider. Choose the time period, then share the PDF by email, text, AirDrop, or your patient portal.

How do I lock the app?

Go to More and turn on Face ID / fingerprint lock. RootBOSS will ask you to unlock each time it opens.

How do I delete everything?

Go to More, then Delete all my data. This erases your intake, check-ins, and change log from the phone and cannot be undone.

Reminders and subscriptions

I am not getting reminders.

Go to More and check that Weekly reminder is on. If it is, make sure notifications for RootBOSS are allowed in your phone's Settings app.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google. On iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play, profile icon, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play under their policies.
